1. Small transit or construction related damage like this scratch can be quickly repaired using Soft Wax and a Touch-up Dye Pen.
2. Pre-color the exposed raw wood using a Touch-up Dye Pen. In this case we used color #110.

Tip: When using a Touch-up Dye Pen use extreme CAUTION! The dye often soaks in to the raw wood and appears much darker than expected. On lighter colored stains it is best to use the Color Edging Pen to pre-color the damage.

3. Mix a small amount of the appropriate colors of Soft Wax onto a mini applicator (shown) or a Special Applicator and press the Soft Wax down into the damage. Next, remove the excess wax by pressing the applicator down firmly against the surface while moving across the damage in a forward circular motion.

Tip: When necessary, wax sticks can be mixed. Blend wax sticks together by kneading them between your fingers. If the soft wax sticks are too hard, place them in your pocket while preparing the damage. In just a few minutes they will be warmed up and ready for mixing.

4. If necessary, choose another fill stick to help to match the surrounding area and rub it over the damage.
5. To make minor color adjustments and to blend into the surrounding finish, rub the Soft Wax directly onto the finished surface.

6. Next, remove the excess wax using the applicator.
7. To dull the wax, rub a piece of Scotch Brite (included inside the Special Applicator) lightly across the repair. Be careful not to remove the wax by applying too much pressure.

Tip: if Liquid Sandpaper is available you may use this in place of the Scotch-Brite. Again, use light pressure!

Seal the damage with Special Repair Lacquer. The repair is now complete.
